It is now week 2- I must say I have learnt a lot, and it has been useful for learning in other course and on my prac. From week 1 I learnt how to link a URL website to my blog- this has been a useful tool as I have been able to create a powerpoint for my lessons at school and create a link to a website which takes me directly to the site rather than having to ask my mentor teacher to sign into the internet for me all the time.
I have now used and added to two wikis. I was a little confused at first about where to find the second wiki but soon realised it was on the same link as the first wiki. I strongly believe they are a useful tool for a future Learning Manager. They are a great way of communicating- as teachers they can share ideas, websites, news, meeting times, lesson plans and as a reflection tool about how a particular lesson went. As for students they could use wikis in the same way we are- a collaborative learning environment. I am learning about all the other learning theories by reading all the other campuses and groups notes- this is going to be so helpful for assessment task 1. Students could do this in the same way- although they would need explicit scaffolding through this process and an explanation as how their peers learning and research is going to help them.
